This is a rare and special guitar: a K Yairi DY91 slope shoulder dreadnaught, hand built in the shop of famous Japanese luthier, Kazuo Yairi, in 2004 – that is in perfect condition. There is no wear or damage whatsoever.
I purchased this DY91 from K Yairi Guitars Specialist located in La Motte d’Aigues, France from their Distributor stock – so it was not preowned by anyone, except by me – and I have never played it. It’s been in climate-controlled storage since I bought it in 2020, right after the shop fully inspected the guitar and set it up for comfortable playing. It is a pure acoustic, no electronics.
This DY91 has a natural gloss finish with a superb solid Sitka top and laminated Hawaian Koa back and sides. It also features a Mahogany neck, an Ebony fingerboard, Bone nut and saddle, as well as Ebony bridge pins with mother of pearl inlay.
The sound is clean and precise with nice projection, allowing modulation for expression. Very balanced all round, Koa gives bright mids and trebles, with a resonant bass end and great overtones. It’s great, for fingerpicking and light strumming.
The guitar comes with a new Hiscox case which offers the best anti-shock and thermal protection available. (A $200 value)
Check out this great great demo!
